Happy Meal Planning day! I hope you had a great weekend! I had a whirlwind weekend - in a good way. I started Friday pretty exhausted because Thursday was my oldest's first day of school and the twins' kindergarten open house. They were going to two different schools because my third grader had been accepted into a charter school that is brand new to the area, but the twins were on a wait list. But Friday afternoon, that all changed, and starting Monday all of my girls will be in the same charter school. So I had to get the school supplies already dropped off at the old school. get a few additional school supplies, and then try to scrounge up enough school uniforms for two little girls. Let me tell you, the uniform racks are really picked over right now. I think I've got them enough to make do for right now, except for belts. Do you know how hard it is to find belts for little girls? But we are ready for a brand new adventure this week!! We do still need to eat, though...

Hi folks! I hope that you've had a wonderful week. We're up to the last few days before school starts over here, so I spent my weekend labelling school supplies and getting a few last minute uniform items ready for my eldest. She starts a new school this Thursday, and the twins are starting kindergarten next week. I loved having babies and preschoolers, but I my wallet definitely likes the idea of only paying for afterschool! With school in mind, we're going to have a couple of days this week that will be a little weird as far as meals go, but that's what meal planning is all about, right? Of course, I say that, and some unforeseen circumstances mean that this week we're eating a lot of what was actually planned for last week. But that's ok! Also, if you missed it, you might want to check out how I plan our menu for the week.

Here's the plan for the week:

Monday: Parmesan Chive Tilapia, Broccoli, Fruit, Salad

Tuesday: Breakfast for Dinner, fruit

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Crockpot Chili with Cocoa, Rolls

Friday: Homemade pizza

Saturday: Grilled Chicken, Salad, Homemade bread

Sunday: Chicken Enchiladas, Salad

Last week, my sister-in-law asked me if I'd ever written a post about how to plan a menu for the week. I was dumbfounded. Even though I have been meal planning for over four years here on the blog and to a certain extent even before that, I had never written down my method. It's really not crazy difficult or involved. Once you get into a habit, it should take less than 30 minutes. Really. Promise, and cross my heart. So without further ado...Here's how I meal plan:

Hi folks!! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. My husband and I have both had very crazy work schedules, my kids are all getting ready for school, and somehow I managed to squeeze in 6 family doctor appointments in, too. I’m sorry I missed doing a menu last week; honestly, I suffered all week because I didn’t plan ahead. So even though this week is a little crazy (I’m going to the blog conference Haven at the end of this week!) I don’t want my kiddos to end up eating cereal and junk food all week, so here we are! Here’s the meal plan for the week:

Ya'll. This weekend it may not have been officially summer, but wow... with almost 100 degree heat you could have fooled me. I don't know about you, but I'm really not ready for that much heat!! But school's out and it's time for a new routine that includes summer camps and lots of activities! But we still need to eat.
