German Chocolate Magic Bars
6:00:00 AM
I love the combination of chocolate and coconut, as was first shared here with my Mounds Granola, Samoa Brownies, and several other recipes. Which is why I love German Chocolate...well, German chocolate anything. These German Chocolate Magic Bars are easy and yet a rich gooey way to get your recommended daily allowance of chocolate, coconut, and nuts--a well balanced dessert, if you ask me!
Here's what you need:
1 box German Chocolate cake mix
1 box German Chocolate cake mix
1 stick butter (1/2 cup), softened
1 egg
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided in half
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 14oz can of sweeten condensed milk.
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9x13 cake pan, set aside. Mix together
cake mix, butter, and egg with a mixer until well combined. Press mixture into
the cake pan.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans over the batter.
Pour sweetened condensed milk over entire thing.
Bake for 28-30 minutes. When you pull the bars out of the oven, sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips.
Allow to cool for 20-30 minutes before cutting. Enjoy!
