Colored Mercury Glass Ornaments

I've been looking at simple ornaments to add to my decor this Christmas. Last week, I made easy Mod Melt Snowflakes. But I wanted something fun, yet rustic. So then I hit on an idea....Why not try a colored mercury glass ornament...with some surprise stars!

This is a really easy ornament. The hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry. First, take a clear glass ornament and apply star stickers all over it. You can use premade stickers, or use your silhouette to makes some. I had some leftover from my starry pumpkin, so I just used those.

Then I used my Krylon looking glass spray paint to spray the outside of the ornament. While the paint is still wet, spray it with a 50-50 mix of water and white vinegar to give it a mercury glass look.

Once the spray paint dries, remove the stickers. Squirt some craft paint into the ornament. Swirl it around in the ornament until you cover the entire inside. Drain any excess and allow to dry.

That's it--an easy way to make starry colored mercury glass ornaments.
