Have I mentioned to you how much I love tile as a medium for making signs? I made a ship themed sign with tile last year as part of a nautical mantel. Now that Spring is finally here, I wanted to make a new floral sign for my mantel, and I turned for tile...and I love how it turned out!

Tile is durable and vinyl sticks way better than it does on canvas. I love the relatively new large format tiles. For my new spring sign, I used a dark brownish gray tile that is in a plank format. I love how I don't have to do anything to the background if I don't want to!


I created the sign with my trusty Silhouette Portrait, using the Vivaldi font and a flower and butterfly shape I found on the silhouette store.


Then, all I needed to do was weed out the vinyl and transfer it onto the tile--that's it. Perfect, easy, and ready for this long awaited spring!
