Rustic Glam Christmas Mantel
8:52:00 PM
Remember how I created a wreath with a “rustic glam” feel?
Well, I decided to create that same feel for the mantel, especially since I
hung that wreath on the back door, which is in the same space.
I just so happened to have another of those wooden stars
that I had sprayed with the glitter blast spray paint.
But the best part was the option to use all this greenery.
You see, I was lucky enough to get this for free. My sister purchased a live
tree, and since it was actually cheaper to buy a bigger tree (the tree farmer
was thinning the larger size), they had to cut a couple of feet off the bottom
of the tree to get it to fit into their house, and they gave some of the
branches to me. I am very excited to have a little bit of greenery in the
house, since the one time we had a real tree, the cats kept climbing it, eating
it, and otherwise causing various types of havoc with it.
But hopefully, the mantle is out of their reach, especially
full of Christmas décor.
This is how to make this arrangement: I had this box on
hand, and I placed several mason jars inside—the pint size was the perfect
height.
I partially filled each of those jars with water, then I started trimming branches and placing them in the water. I just kept going until I liked the look.
Then I took my glammed out star and hung it very simply with a little red ribbon. Greenery + glittery star = rustic glam in my book!

I hung some bead garland in swags on the mantle, then placed
our stocking hangers, which are oil-rubbed bronze trees on the mantle (yes, I
know I need another hanger…maybe soon!).
I finished up the look with some galvanized buckets and red
candle holders.
Those buckets will hopefully have some lacy paper Christmas trees very soon. The twins came down with a fever (both at the same time!) which has caused my decorating schedule to get a little out of whack. But there you have it…our Christmas mantle (almost) complete!
