Blue, Green & Glam Christmas Wreath
7:44:00 PM
My house has been decorated in blue and white on the outside for Christmas for a long time, but it has been relatively recently that I have made my wreath to match. My husband has always loved doing lots of Christmas lights outside, and we've limited the colors to blue and white.
So when my wreath came together, it was only natural to lean toward blue. This year, I reused the artificial wreath, a bead garland and some glittery floral picks from last year. But I wanted a lot more glam...so I reworked the whole wreath and added a disco ball ornament that really doesn't "go" with the tree inside..but is perfect for this glittery glammed up wreath.
Here's what you need:
A disco ball ornament (not shown)
An artificial wreath (you can use a real one, but it won't be quite so easy to fasten the picks
Beaded garland
Various glittery floral picks in a color of your desire (I have silver, light blue, and chartreuse)
Optional: Ribbon. I ended up not using it, but if you like bows more than I, you might want it!
Wrap the beaded garland around the wreath, spreading the whole length around the circumference of the wreath. Take the chartreuse/background color picks and divide into two groups. Lay them on top of the wreath, lying horizontal, with the stem ends overlapping.
Then you want to use the artificial wreath to hold the stems in place. The wires of the artificial wreath are perfect for securing these picks.
Then arrange about half of the main color picks to your liking (my main color is blue). Include some accent color picks (my accent color is silver)
Lay this section on top of the background color picks, and secure.
Attach the disco ball ornament at the top of the wreath. Enjoy how glittery the wreath looks against your door.
So do you have a theme throughout your house for Christmas decor? Or a couple like I do (yes, my house has multiple personalities)? Or does anything go?
