Metallic Tribal Tattoo Ornaments

6:00:00 AM

I’m really loving the fake tattoos that you can find in stores and online these days – they are way more grown up than the superhero ones that my kids have been using for years.

But let’s face it, I just don’t have many occasions to don a cool geometric tattoo – I just don’t get out much! But these metallic beauties that I got as a bonus from an online purchase were way to pretty for me not to use them, so I had to find a new use for them. I don’t do much glitzy décor items…except one time of year – during the holidays! I was super exited to realize that I could use tattoos to add drama to glossy ornament to bring them to the next level.

Here’s what you need:
(affiliate links included for your convenience)
Wooden ornaments – look for ones that have flat sides
Glossy paint – I used Americana Decor Maxx Gloss Paint in candy apple, white china, and jungle leaf.
Tattoos – mine came from Cents of Style, but you can find them on Amazon here.

Paint the ornaments with the glossy paint using the foam brushes. This glossy paint will run, so do one side at a time and do multiple thin coats.

Allow to dry completely. Cut out the desired shape from your tattoos, and follow the instructions to apply the tattoo - mine had me apply with water then hold the paper down on the surface for a certain amount of time.

Remove the paper backing carefully and you have a custom Christmas ornament with just enough glitz!

These ornaments are super simple! Older children could easily make them!

Enjoy!
