A Week in My Life: Tuesday

5:30:00 AM

Melissa over at Adventuroo and Momcomm has created this awesome challenge: A Week in My Life. I thought I’d give it a try. It’s not my usual fare for the blog—it’s so much easier to compose a recipe than to tell you about my life—but for all of the folks who wonder how I manage to work full time job, parent 3 little ones, be a wife, and blog…well, here’s your insight.

Now that the twins have begun to talk, sometimes I feel like my life is "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" They are just now putting together two and three word sentences, so when they come up with a phrase, it tends to still be a shock.

This morning, I was getting my lunch out and I got a squeezable yogurt out and put it in my bag. I left the room for a moment, and when I came back, Sweet Pea was crying and Princess Pea had the tube of yogurt, waving it around, saying, "Eat, Eat!"

Even though we had already given them breakfast, I fed the yogurt to them. But then, after I told them, "All done," and went back to packing my lunch, Sweet Pea came up to me. "More?"

"All done." I told her.

"More?"

"No, baby."

Then she looked me in the eyes, and as clear as a bell, said, "Is there more?"

She knew that there was more in the fridge. I can tell that I'm not fooling her any more with a simple "all done."

Little Bit, on the other hand, has been amusing us for years with what she says. Today, I was driving  the van, and she said, "Mommy, are you driving?" Since I was the only person over the age of four in the vehicle, the answer was yes. Her response: "When I'm big, and I'm a mom, I'm going to sit where you are, and drive the van." Hmm, I'm hoping we're not driving the van at that point, but I'm glad she wants to be like me!

    Kids are so cute!!
I wonder how we do all that we do. I have a one year old and sometimes he stays still and for the most part he doesn't. I'm a SAHM and so I work from home. I do wish he was at the point where he made complete sentences or the ones he says made any sense but I get "da" and "gui" - what the heck are those?

  5. Love listening to all the cute things kids come up with. It's so great to watch the process of them understanding new things and mixing it with things they don't quite understand.
