Easy Gold Striped Monogram Ornament & Amazing Giveaway!
10:00:00 AM
I am super excited about today!! I have an amazing monogrammed gold striped Christmas ornament to share with you. I think it turned out to be a perfect gift for my daughter's teacher for the holidays! And if you've been following Architecture of a Mom for a while, you know that occasionally I team up with a whole lot of other bloggers and share our love for the Silhouette cutting machine and make awesome themed projects. You also may remember that we try to have at least one major giveaway every year during the holidays! Keep reading, you're going to love, love, love my ornament, love all the other amazing projects, and you have a chance to win not one, but 3 different Silhouette projects!!
But first, let's talk about how to make this easy ornament!
Here's what you'll need:
Glass oval ornament (you can find these at your local craft store)
Gold adhesive vinyl
Silhouette scraper, spatula, and hook tools
Transfer tape or clear contact paper
Computer and Silhouette Portrait or Cameo
First, you need to create your design. Find a frame that will fit your ornament. In Silhouette Design Studio (their design program), I used one that comes free in the stamping kit.
Find the letter and the font that you need. I used an S in Lobster 1.4. Select the letter and offset it so there is an outline.
I say almost completed because I realized that the hole on my ornament was a little lower and not centered so I had to recut my vinyl.
Once the vinyl was cut, I weeded the design and used clear contact paper to transfer my design onto the ornament.
I used the scraper tool to smooth out any bubbles. And so there you have it: an easy Christmas gift or Christmas decor for your own tree!
