Thankful 2014

What are you thankful for?

This year, as I have watched my coworker have a micro preemie, and remembered all the fear and drama of having a high risk pregnancy, I am amazed that my twin daughters, born at 32 weeks gestation are perfectly normal, spunky, little 3 year olds. Although I don't always appreciate their spunky, feisty actions on a day-to-day basis...I'm still thankful.

I'm thankful that my eldest is thriving in first grade and has embraced wearing glasses, especially since last school year was such a struggle. Her sweet spirit is so amazing!

I'm thankful that I have a job, and that my husband does, too, and that we're thriving at those jobs. After our fields (architecture and engineering) took such a beating over the past few years, it's a relief.

I'm thankful for my husband who is involved, helpful, and loving.

I'm thankful that I have enough food to eat, and a place to live, and the freedom to write and say what I wish.

I'm thankful that we have the opportunity to take a non-traditional Thanksgiving break from our ordinary lives.

Take the time today to think on the things for which you are thankful, somewhere between the shopping and the turkey and the football. I promise the exercise in thankfulness won't be wasted.
