Disclosure - I wrote this post as part of a campaign for Lifeway Kefir and Influenster. I received free product as part of this campaign. All opinions on this product are 100% my own.

Have you ever hear of kefir? I hadn’t either, or I thought I hadn’t. But that didn’t stop me from making a summer dessert from it! Can you really go wrong with another popsicle, especially one that  has probiotics in it?

Kefir is a lot like our U.S. yogurt, but it’s a little more tart, and more of a liquid. It also has a tendency to be a little bubbly. When I was given the opportunity to try this product through Influenster, I thought I had never tasted this product before, but then I tasted it. I realized that I had, in Ukraine. Apparently, this is a product from eastern Europe that has made its way to the states. I have to say that tasting Lifeway’s kefir smoothie certainly took me back to when I spent a summer in eastern Europe!

The benefits of kefir are pretty amazing: very low in lactose, gluten free, it still has all the benefits of a live-culture (good) bacteria…plenty of probiotics to help your digestion!

So I decided that since it was a lot like yogurt, I could make a kefir pop and make it into dessert! Since there's plenty of fresh fruit right now, and it's plenty hot around my house, I also figured that I could get the kids to eat a fairly healthy dessert...and I was right!

Here’s what you need:
1 peach, chopped very fine
1 cup Lifeway kefir smoothie, in strawberry banana
1 teaspoon of honey

Mix ingredients well, and freeze in popsicle molds overnight.

I loved these yummy pops, and so did my kids! I love how they are good for you, and yet they count as dessert!
