Grilled Plum and Herbal Tea Popsicles

It's that time of year when anything sweet and cold tastes good. A few weeks back, we picked up some popsicle molds from Ikea, and we've put them to pretty good use recently. In my last produce basket, we received some plums. I like plums okay, but they are not my favorite fruit. It turns out the kids are not the biggest fan of the texture, either, and they were a little tart. So I did what any self-respecting mom would do--I turned the fruit into dessert!
My oldest has a big fascination with coffee and tea. I think she wants to be like mommy. So I've started letting her try some herbal teas (since this mommy will not let her have the real stuff...and definitely not coffee!). I thought combining the plums with Berry Zinger Herbal Tea would be a great taste...and it was!
3 plums
1 tea bag, Berry Zinger herbal tea
12 oz hot water
honey to taste
Cut each plum in half and take out the pit. Cook on a hot grill pan or a grill cut face down for two minutes. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until soft.
While grilling the fruit, brew your tea. I used my Kuerig on the tall beverage setting.
Cool ingredients slightly, then use a blender or immersion blender to puree it all together.
Sweeten with honey to taste. Freeze in popsicle molds. Enjoy.
Note: This is not a super sweet fruit pop on purpose. I wanted an alternative to those popsicles that are little more that water and sugar, with some artificial color thrown in for good measure. And you know what...the kiddos didn't seem to mind at all.
