Being Frugal--Using Swagbucks!
12:52:00 PM
It’s been a while since I’ve posted about frugality--so here's a frugality tip that's been rolling around in my head for a while. One way I try to
stay frugal is by looking for freebies online. One of my methods is using
SwagBucks. I pay for around 1/3 to 1/2
of my diapers (remember that I have 2 kids in diapers) through this program, by
doing things that I would do ordinarily on the web.
I buy a lot of my diapers online
at Amazon through their Amazon mom program. It gives a discount on the big
cases of diapers (and with twins, you know that is how we go through those
diapers—in cases!). Anyway, I earn giftcards to Amazon through an online
program called SwagBucks. SwagBucks is a way to earn an online “currency”—called
SwagBucks—and then you can trade that currency for giftcards or other prizes. I
almost always use my SwagBucks for the Amazon $5 giftcard because it’s the best
deal for the “buck.” You’re limited to 5 like prizes in a month, so I get enough
each month to get 5 $5 giftcards—which pays for almost a case of diapers. No
kids in diapers? It’s a great chance to save up for a special purchase or
gifts.
Here’s how I get SwagBucks, every day, in less than 5 minutes:
-I do the daily poll (1 swagbuck)
-I click through the No Obligation Special Offer path (2 SwagBucks)
-I have the toolbar (1 swagbuck for each day you open your browser with
the toolbar)
-I do my searches through SwagBucks
-When I have the time, I run SwagBucks TV in the background while I’m
doing other things—mostly blogging!—online.
-Occasionally, I’ll play games on their website or try to qualify for a
survey, again, as time allows.
If you are interested, right now is the perfect opportunity to check SwagBucks
out! Through 5 pm PDT on Thursday June 28 there is a signup code available for
new members. If you choose to sign up any old time, you get a welcome to SwagBucks
bonus of 30 points. But right now (through 5pm PDT Thurs) if you enter “SummerSocial”
(just like that, without the quotes), you get an additional 70 SwagBucks for a
100 SwagBuck start to that giftcard—or another prize! If you are interested,
please click here to sign up. This is my referral link—I won’t lie to you!—but all
I get is any SwagBucks that you get from searching, until you reach 1,000 search
SwagBucks. That’s it.
Apparently, starting June 28, the folks at
SwagBucks are going to have a
summer social—so there will be even more opportunities to earn Swagbucks, of
that I am certain!
So how do you try to be frugal while doing the things you already do?
