Easy Tassel Pendants

I’m not known for being trendy. I guess I’m too thrifty to change out my clothes every season. But what I love are ways to accessorize that are simple and inexpensive! Have you noticed tassels everywhere this year? They are on jewelry, on purses, on pillows. I am totally loving them…and I love how simple they are to make. I love how they look in jewelry, especially!

Here’s what you need to make 2 tassels:

1 skein of embroidery floss
2 ball bead cap jewelry findings
2 1-inch eye pins
Scissors
Needle nose pliers

First, take off the labels of the skein of floss. Cut the skein in half.

These will be the 2 tassels.

Pull out two strands. Then, take the half skein and eyeball the halfway point. Take one of the separate strands and wrap it around the center of the half-skein. Thread the eye pin through the strand and tie off.

Fold the half skein in half. Push the eye pin up through the center of the skein. Take the second strand that you had set aside and  wrap it very near the eye pin. Tie it off and glue if required to secure.

Thread the ball bead cap onto the eye pin, pushing it down on top of the floss.

Trim the ends of the floss and  use needle nose pliers to make a loop on the end of the eye pin. Then you can thread it onto a chain to make a necklace or onto a key chain to decorate your keys or purse!

Enjoy!!
