Easy Going Fall Mantel

6:00:00 AM

Hey all! I am excited to post my simply decorated Fall mantel today.

I have to say that this year, although I have this mantel and a fall wreath, I am not decorated for fall. I love fall—the cooler weather, the new routines, but this year, I just can't get my feet under me with decorating. Perhaps it's because someone in the family has been sick every weekend for over a month—and weekends are my catch-up and blogging time. Perhaps it was dealing with a death in the family and then 2 accidents—all within the space of two weeks. Perhaps it's all the new routines. Perhaps the twins finally have full run of the house without having an adult with them all the time...and the chaos associated with two three-year-olds has now spread to every room in my home.

I'm not sure what is causing the house decor and organization funk, but I need to get out of it. I feel like we have drift of paper and discarded toys everywhere. This weekend, I want to find my floor and my counters and actually clean them. By Saturday afternoon, I will be done with consignment sales for the season, so all outgrown clothes can go in the attic. We will do a big clean. But in the meantime, this one corner of my home can have a little organization and a little feel of fall.

Almost all of these items are repurposed, from previous years, or knockoffs.

I redid these candlesticks for summer, and I just took off the mod melt decor and seashells and added some pumpkins.

The lantern and plant pot lantern came from Ikea. The gold glitter glass votive holders are from my tablescape from a couple of years ago. I made this pumpkins and apples sign for this year's mantel. Stay tuned for some more silhouette inspired decor.

These planks have been hanging out on our mantel for a while—they came from a pallet. I love the texture and height they give.

All the pumpkins came from Target a while back. The tray came from Becky, whose blog, Beyond The Picket Fence, absolutely rocks.

So that's my thrown together, repurposed, easy-going fall mantel.
