Tagalong Donuts {Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake Mix Donuts}
5:00:00 AM
It’s that time again—when those Girl Scout Cookie order
forms go up in offices around the country. Pretty soon, we’ll see cute little
girls outside virtually every store trying to tempt us away from our new year
resolutions. But in the meantime, those order forms start the cravings that are
weeks away from fulfillment....and what do you do for the rest of the year?
That’s where donuts come in.
Yes, really. These donuts were inspired by Tagalongs, those chocolate and peanut butter bites that are my husband’s favorite Girl Scout cookie. But my Tagalong Donuts kick all the flavors up several notches—these donuts are more chocolatey, more peanut buttery…they are simply more. I describe the flavor as if my peanut butter fudge and a tagalong got married and had a donut baby.

Yep, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
Even better, the base of this recipe is cake mix, so it’s
pretty easy. Are you ready for something amazing?
1 box devil’s food cake mix
1 egg
1 egg
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 F. Spray donut pan with cooking spray. Mix remaining ingredients with a mixer until combined.
The batter will be stiff. Don't worry!
Fill the pan about 2/3 full.
Bake for 9 minutes.
These are best served warm...and gooey. If you can't eat them all fresh, you can microwave one for about 15 seconds.
I love to party! Sometimes I link up my posts to Organizing Junkie, Tidy Mom and these link parties! You should come party with me and check out some awesome new bloggers!
