Selling at Consignment Sales

5:00:00 AM

I have mentioned before how much I love consignment sales.

I am always looking for a way to save money on children’s clothes, toys, and other paraphernalia. After all, children are expensive! And they can be rough on clothes and shoes in particular, especially once they reach toddlerhood. I really don’t see the point of paying full price for clothing they will just tear up. So I’ve been buying at consignment sales for 6 years now (since  I was pregnant with Lil Bit!)

In my corner of the world, many churches use them as a fundraiser. They keep a certain percentage of the sales and a registration fee, but it’s a win-win for a mom like me. I support a charity, we have a place to make a little money, and I can get rid of some of the kid’s stuff that we’ve accumulated!  I am ready to get rid of some of the baby clutter…I believe that we are finished with having kiddos, so we are going to try to sell maternity clothes, infant equipment like bathtubs, and some big items like a high chair and a baby swing.

This is our first time selling at consignment sales, so I am really hoping that this goes well. I haven’t branched out to actually selling kids’ clothes, but here’s hoping that this fall, I’ll have time in my schedule to clean out the rest of the plastic tubs in the attic!

I don’t know about you, but this is a great way to Spring Clean…you know, without actually cleaning. Maybe I’ll get to the cleaning part someday!
