Menu Planning Monday 2013-02-11
1:31:00 PM
Well, it's that time of week where I put together my thoughts for what I'm whipping up for dinner in the coming week.
And I want to spend a little bit of time explaining to you what my menu plan really is. It's a plan. It isn't set in stone, and I don't beat myself up if it doesn't happen. The whole purpose of my menu planning is to make my life easier. On the days when what I've planned doesn't make my life easier...well, those are the days that we have peanut butter sandwiches for dinner. I try hard for those days to be few and far between, but they do happen, and I don't beat myself up about them. But the meal plan helps me eliminate wasted food, slim down the grocery bill, and make dinner time (which is crazy in my house) a little more sane.
So if you eat exactly what you plan every week...you are awesome. It's just not how my life goes!
So here's my plan for the week (and yes, we'll probably deviate at least once):
Monday: Fish Sticks and Juiced up Carrots
Tuesday: Taco Salad, Fruit
Wednesday: Sausage Apple Saute (We'll see how it turns out...I may be sharing this one with you!!)
Thursday: Spaghetti
Friday: Pesto Caprese Chicken, Green Beans
Saturday: Chili in the Crockpot (I'm going to be out of the house for much of the afternoon with Lil Bit who is attending a birthday party, so I want something that will cook itself)
Sunday: Burritos with the leftover chili
So, do you stick to your menu plan, or is it more loose, like mine? Or are you just trying to get some sort of plan together? I'd love to hear!

I definitely want to hear about the sausage apple saute, because it sounds like something my hubby would love! :)
ReplyDeleteWe are taking a break from our regular plan to clean out the freezer. More work for me, but it needs to be done. I actually still have no idea what we're having for dinner tonight. Maybe PBJs!!
