Aqua and Coral Beachy Bracelet
7:19:00 AM
I wanted to create a coordinating bracelet to match my Coral Shell Bib Necklace. I thought that the aqua colored beads would link together.
Um, no.
So Plan B.
A multi-strand bracelet using the aqua beads, the coral shell beads, and some cracked glass pebble beads. Those glass beads make me think of beach glass, the perfect complement to the other beads! I took some of the stretchy beading string. I cut two strands, about a yard long each. I threaded each strand on a needle (small enough for the beads), with the needle in the middle so that I would be threading the beads on two strands.
I tied a knot and threaded both needles through the first bead.
I threaded a couple of beads on each needle, and then threaded both needles through a single glass bead again. Then I ran both needles through the knot.
This made a kind of bobble on the end. Then I threaded the beads on each needle separately, to make two separate strands of beads.
And then every so often I would thread both needles back through the same bead. This technique only worked with the glass beads since the holes were bigger.
I continued the pattern until I had enough length to fit my wrist. Since the thread is stretchy, I didn't need to worry about the length fitting over my hand.
I tied my knots through the bobble to hide it, and then used a lighter to melt the ends of the thread to fuse them together. And voila! The perfect complement...
...to my Coral Shell Bib Necklace!
I love how these two pieces coordinate without being matchy-matchy. What do you think?
