Do you know how I know that in a few short weeks I’ll be a
mom of 3 grade schoolers? Are you getting ready for school to start at your house too?
It's so hard to believe that when I started this blog none of my kiddos went to school (the twins were babies!), and now here we are. The reality of what 3 kids in school means hit home this weekend when I sharpened 96 pencils this past Saturday afternoon.
That’s right. Just 4 short of 100. I know that they should have done it, but I
wanted them to start school with nice, perfect pencils – not short stubby ones
(those electric sharpeners are hypnotic). But I haven’t finished shopping for school supplies; I’ve barely
even started, and as I started shopping I quickly realized I needed to create a
collated list with all of their needs on one piece of paper because not all
teachers realized that we frazzled moms would find it really helpful to have the supplies in the same order. And guess what? I'm sharing this list with you to make your school supply shopping easier!
This list allows you to note how many of each supply each child needs, and then all you need to do is total it all up. So when I see that child 1 needs 48 pencils, child 2 needs 24 pencils, and child 3 needs 24 pencils, I can total it all up to get 96 pencils before I leave for the store.
